The inclusive Government marked the first 100days of its turn around strategy for the country’s economic, health, education, media, political, and other social sectors on the 6th of August. It is the aim of the Bulawayo Youth Council to gather young people’s views on what they think has improved in their lives since the beginning of this exercise to improve their lives or at least put to a halt its deterioration. Particular attention will be paid to the Social cluster which houses the Ministry of Youth Development indigenization and Empowerment.

The discussions will be taken to three of Bulawayo’s constituencies which are Bulawayo South, Bulawayo East and Pumula. Young people’s views gathered during these meetings which are preceded by focus group meetings in every ward of each constituency will form the basis of a position paper which will circulate amongst stakeholders and the relevant community representatives, the local and national leadership. The position papers are intended to have young people participate in civic activities and input into policy formulation at a local and national level. The PPPs also outline the specific areas of concern to young people on a particular theme with the hope of getting stakeholders and leaders to take specific action towards addressing them.

These meetings will review progress made in the five selected clusters comprising of the Economy, Infrastructure, Social, Rights and Interests, and Security. Recommendations from youths on what the Inclusive government can do to improve the situation on the ground will also be included in the September Policy Position Paper.
