More Policy Dialogue Meetings this weekend

Two policy dialogue meetings are set for this weekend, with the Bulawayo Youth Council raising debate on the national healing process in Zimbabwe in the Emakhandeni/Entumbane and Nkulumane constituencies.

The speakers in Nkulumane will be Mr Dumisani Nkomo the Chief Executive Officer for Habakkuk Trust with the MP for the area Mr Thamsanqa Mahlangu being the guest of honour at Nkulumane Hall. At Emakhandeni Hall Mr Nhlanhla Mpofu a civic activist will be the speaker with the MP for the area also expected to attend as well.

We continue with the theme from the previous two weeks, National Healing or a Political Gimmick: Will the current process achieve true peace. After these two meetings, a second position paper will be produced using views and recommendations raised during these meetings and some focus group meetings that have been held in Nkulumane constituency over the past two weeks.

We call on all young people, friends, partners and stakeholders in and around these constituencies to take part in these discussions as this is the only way we can be heard and be counted. It is our hope and conviction that, meeting and talking about national policy issues that affect us on a day to day basis is the only way we can effect positive change in our communities.
